The Private Sector’s Role in Reducing Unpaid Care hosted by Includovate
The proliferation of women's economic empowerment and unpaid care programs has forgotten about the plight of childcare centre owners. Funding for improving childcare policies and guidelines has enabled the implementation of global best practices in low and middle-income countries. However, these regulations are mismatched to the local reality, and centre owners face the impossible challenge of meeting these regulations to keep operating.
This panel session will bring together childcare centre owners as panellists to share their personal journeys, challenges, and solutions in navigating both regulatory and business aspects of running a centre. The discussion will highlight lessons learned, innovative approaches, and recommendations for policy and sector support.
Key Topics:
-
Business and regulatory challenges
-
Day-to-day operational challenges from staffing to pricing, and rent/finding the right space
-
Collaboration between the government and the private sector
-
Recommendations for policy and donor support
