How do we show up to this moment of global crisis, and respond with courage to the threats of environmental collapse and fascism, plus all the mess in our own lives? How do we tap into our power to protect ourselves, our loved ones, our neighbors, and all our relations without succumbing to despair or bitterness?

Many sources of wisdom and healing practices exist to allow us to work productively with our strong emotions, and to stay healthy and well and connected to visions of healthy, compassionate, sustainable futures. Join teaching artists and practitioners Ife Ina, Anna Kosugi, and Barbara Ohuninifa for a somatic workshop to help our hearts - the source of our courage - be clear, strong, and connected. In this multi-disciplinary workshop, we will care for our hearts through music, movement, meditation, and wisdom sharing. Expect to sing, move, reflect, and listen. We will leave the workshop equipped with practices we can rely on as we return to our daily lives.

Learn more about the teaching artists in the Sponsors page.

Many of the gifts shared in this workshop are rooted in indigenous African science and wisdom. This is a pro-Black, pro-Indigenous, pro-Femme space.

Ife Ina
Singer, songwriter, teacher
"While working as a teacher with Seattle-area youth, [Ife] also offers a range of spiritually and culturally rich opportunities through Orisha dance, song, and drumming in the local Seattle area. ...His teaching comes from a place of truly infinite love. His students echo his authenticity, humor, and spirit of dance, creating an opportunity for community and connection. Through his art, Ife is a light for both young and old." - Nadine Gibson

Ife's sound calls to mind artists such as Gregory Porter, Steve Arrington and Aloe Blacc. “Lilly’s intimate songwriting style and subtle arrangements combined with his intense yet broad vocal range make him a natural for adult progressive audiences. With the right producer he's an international artist just waiting to happen”, says Tom Mehren of Sounds of Seattle. Mark Lilly's (aka Ifeoluwa) first love is creating original songs and lyrics. He is one of those singer-songwriters that come along in a great while. He has the ability to balance the scales between complexity and simplicity.

Anna Kosugi
Pilates & Bodywork

Anna has been teaching Pilates since 2007. She was first introduced to the Pilates method as a young dancer training in ballet and modern dance.  Anna has taught in various studios, gyms, community centers, and previously assisted in a teacher training program. She loves learning more about our miraculous bodies, regularly self-studying and attending continuing education classes and workshops through Pilates Method Alliance, Balanced Body, Pilates Anytime, Society of Ortho-Bionomy®, Fascia Training Academy, and with Angela Carini (Pilates + Qi Gong), Liz Koch (author of "The Psoas Book"), Tom Myers (author of "Anatomy Trains"), and Eric Franklin (founder of the Franklin Method).

Anna is a certified Practitioner of Ortho-Bionomy®. She is grateful for the marvelous combination of Pilates and Ortho-Bionomy® and how it has facilitated lasting healing from her own and others’ injuries and pain.

Anna has extensive experience working with pre and postnatal women, people of all ages healing from injuries and surgeries, managing, relieving, and resolving chronic pain, as well as enhancing training for athletes, dancers, martial artists, and acrobats of all ages.

Barbara Ohuninifa
Transformational speaker, sacred storyteller, and embodied testament to what it means to heal out loud.

After surviving a 1% chance of living, three open-heart surgeries, and a rare adrenal tumor, Barbara chose to go beyond survival and claim her sovereignty. Her health journey became a portal into radical self-love, ancestral connection, and a digital nomadic path that’s taken her across borders and back to herself.

She is the author of From Fat, Black, and Unlovable to Beautiful Powerful Love and Remember Who the +F*ck You Are, two soul-shifting books that invite Black women to reclaim their beauty, power, and innate wisdom. Her next offering coming later this year, an anthology of ancestral women’s wisdom, channels the medicine of the women who walked before us—and those rising now.

Barbara's life has been a heroine's journey of transformation—she embodies it. With every word, every ritual, and every digital footprint, she calls us to remember: your healing is not a luxury. It’s a revolution.
